Karen Handerhan has worked with the children of Mercer Area Elementary School since 1999.  Karen was the Elementary Guidance Counselor for 12 years and has taught 5th and 2nd grades before being assigned to the Title I program where she provides support to both 4th and 6th grade students.  Karen earned her Bachelor of Science in Education as well  her Masters of Education in Elementary and Secondary School Counseling from Slippery Rock University and her principal certification in Education Leadership from Gannon University.
