Karen Handerhan has worked with the children of Mercer Area Elementary School since 1999.   Karen earned her Bachelor of Science in Education and her Masters of Education in Elementary and Secondary School Counseling from Slippery Rock University.  She also earned a  principal certificate in Education Leadership from Gannon University. Prior to teaching 5th grade, Karen worked as a guidance counselor, Title I teacher, and a 2nd grade teacher.
