Miss Cindi Holzapfel
Miss Holzapfel is entering her third decade of teaching at Mercer Elementary. Over the course of the past 20+ years, she has continuously shared her love of reading across all grade levels, with the majority of her time spent in third, fourth, and fifth grades. As a second career, Miss Holzapfel is pleased to have touched the lives of many students in classrooms, at arrival and departure times, through support services, in after-school programs, and at various social events. Before becoming a teacher in Mercer, Miss Holzapfel was an international business travel agent in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas for 18 years as well as having her own radio show locally.
Her undergraduate degree is from Slippery Rock University with certification in Elementary Education (K-6) and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instructional Design from Gannon University. Over 40 additional credits have been achieved with a focus on differentiated instruction, brain based learning, reading strategies and comprehension, impact of poverty on families and education, as well as other topics relating to growing life-long learners.
Miss Holzapfel resides in Coolspring Township.
