Mrs. Allyson Rust

Welcome to the Mercer Elementary School Guidance Department page. I want to take this time to introduce myself as the elementary guidance counselor, Mrs. Rust. You will find me at the elementary school every day from 7:45 to 3:15. At the elementary school, I will be conducting classroom guidance lessons and small groups throughout the year.  The lessons will focus on expressing feelings, getting along with others, conflict resolution, building and maintaining friendships, and looking at careers for the future. There may be times that your child will need someone to talk to about an issue he/she is facing.  You or your child are welcome to contact me directly or through your child’s teacher.  I will be glad to meet with your child individually.  I look forward to working with your child and you this school year.

Elementary Student Assistance Program

In Pennsylvania, every school district is required to have a plan for identifying and assisting students who experience "barriers to learning". The Secretary of Education established the Student Assistance Program as a Pre-K through twelfth grade system for assisting parents and school personnel in removing these barriers.

Mercer’s SAP Team will help you find services and assistance within the school and, if needed, in the community. We do not diagnose, treat, or refer your child for treatment. Rather we will provide you with information; you make the choices. Our goal is to help your child succeed in school.
