Mrs. Amanda Simpson
Mrs. Amanda Simpson began her career at Mercer Middle/High School in 2019. Currently, she is the Director of Special Education. Previously, she was the Middle School Principal and the coordinator of the Mercer Area Virtual Academy, a K-12 cyber program organized and managed by the Mercer Area School District. Prior to coming to Mercer, Mrs. Simpson taught special education at Jamestown High School for 7 years. She has also worked as a cyber teacher, an elementary special education teacher, and an instructional aide. Mrs. Simpson received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education from Slippery Rock University in 2007 and her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction as well as Principal Certification from Gannon University in 2014 and 2018, respectively.
