Miss Melanie Zeitler

Ms. Zeitler received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from La Roche University in 2021 and her Master’s degree in School Counseling from Westminster College in 2024. After graduating, she worked as a middle school counselor at a public school in Butler County helping students to with Social Emotional Learning and Career Preparation. She is a member of Pennsylvania School Counselors Association and American School Counselors Association. Ms. Zeitler has a passion for helping students to learn valuable life skills that they can carry with them beyond their time in high school. She is excited to begin her career at Mercer as the 10^th/11^th/12^th Grade School Counselor and is looking forward to helping her students and their families!

Mrs. Courtney Smithco

Mrs. Smithco earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh in 2018 and her Master’s degree in School Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2020. She began her career at Mercer in 2021 as the 7th and 8th Grade School Counselor and has since continued to serve our community as the 7th, 8th, and 9th Grade School Counselor. Mrs. Smithco is passionate about helping students overcome barriers that may impact their success and supporting the academic, social-emotional, and career growth of all students. In addition to her role as a school counselor, she serves as the Varsity Cheerleading Coach and Aevidum Club Advisor. Through her work with Aevidum—a student-driven organization dedicated to suicide prevention, mental health awareness, and fostering a culture of acceptance and support—she strives to empower students to prioritize their well-being and look out for one another. Outside of school, Mrs. Smithco enjoys cooking and trying new recipes, spending time with her husband, and taking walks with their two Bernese Mountain Dogs.
