Dr. Ronald R. Rowe, Jr.
Dr. Ronald R. Rowe, Jr. has been the superintendent of Mercer Area School District since 2019. Prior to this position, he served as the Assistant Superintendent beginning in 2006. Dr. Rowe previously taught social studies at Sharon City Schools and West Middlesex Area School District before becoming the Mercer Area School District Assistant Middle/High School Principal in 2003. He continued to serve the school district as the Mercer Middle School Principal and school district Athletic Director from 2004-2006. Dr. Rowe’s educational career began at Westminster College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He continued his education at Slippery Rock University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. Dr. Rowe then received his Master of Arts in Education Administration in 1999, his Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility in 2006, and his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership in 2016, all from Youngstown State University.
Dr. Michael G. Piddington
Dr. Piddington is entering his 21st year in the Mercer Area School District and his 4th as Assistant Superintendent. Previously, he served as Middle-High School Principal (2012-2019) and Assistant Principal (2011-2012). Prior to becoming an administrator within the district, Dr. Piddington worked as both a Middle School and High School Math teacher in addition to serving as Head Middle School Track & Field coach and an Assistant coach for the Varsity Football team. He also served as the district's Athletic Director from 2006-2011. Dr. Piddington received his Bachelor of Science in Education in 2002, his Master’s Degree in Educational Administration in 2005, and a Superintendent's Letter of Eligibility in 2015, all from Westminster College. He earned his Doctor of Education in Education Leadership from Pennsylvania Western University-California in 2022.
